More Gunpla arrivals!

I already posted the Universal unit build, but I wanted to acknowledge the new haul! Section 8 hobbies was visited in person, so of course I had to support a brick and mortar store, and USA gundam has good prices/shipping to USA, a good selection, and has new sales like each week! Gotta love em.   I just started reading the thunderbolt novels and that master grade looked like a great centerpiece worth of 1/100 among all my 1/144, and since I wanted to post the Heine destiny better and get some action on a few more kits, I got a few action bases.
   

However, since I got down to less than 2 kits that were still in box before this came in, I placed another order, and it arrived as well!  Newtype coming through again.

With this I'll have PLENTY of backlog.  Oh, and did I mention I sprung for godhands?  Cuz.... I sprung for godhands.  Just wait till you hear how they do.

Man I am a sucker for a GM. Anyways, that puts me with PLENTY of blacklog, so expect plenty of builds! If theres something in particular you'd like to see reviewed (While I'm going for kits I like first, maybe one you suggest I might like, but also equipment like maybe the dspiae or engineer NP05 nippers, or delpi waterslides, or other things) let me know, and I'll consider trying them out!

HG RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type

My gateway gundam was 08th MS Team, so as you can imagine I've been waiting to do this kit.  The GM ground type, a classic, in wonderful colors. I just love the orange bandai uses on some of these kits (I also really wanted to get the test Bugu over the normal Bugu, but its over double the price and it's just a color change, so I can paint it if I want). The GM ground type gets most of its fame from 08th MS Team, but was also in igloo2, a few different series of the varios mangas, and several of the games.  In the Universal Century, it was developed using early project V data, being first deployed almost a full month before the incident at side 7 (august 79).  While the RX-79G gundam ground type was developed using the same early data, it also used spare project V parts, setting them apart as "GUNDAM" units and also making them nearly impossible to mass produce.  Since this GM was developed from the same data, just with an equivalent design meant to pave the way ...

Finishing the HG GM Guard Custom

Strap in, ladies and gents, because we're about to finish the Guard Custom (which in my head I keep calling the Shield custom, for reasons that are about to become obvious) from just the torso.  If you recall, I started the guard custom when I went to a local meetup for the first time in the city I moved to, which you can read about HERE . I got through the torso and didn't take a lot of pics because I was having fun enjoying the moment with my fellow builders. But now, on to the rest of this kit! One thing to note is theres a lot of flat wide surfaces, and some had slight areas that needed to be sanded down with some faint lines running across them. So even if you didn't touch it and there was no nub, inspect every piece and every surface! This time I'm just doing a straight build, with 1.Cut far end of all the gates of a piece to release it 2.Cut close to but not perfectly flush to remove gates 3.Knife work to get a flat nubless surface, erring on the sid...

HG RGM-79 Powered GM

Do you enjoy the new standard for mobile suits, but just wish it would jump higher and run faster? Have I got a deal for you. The RGM-79 Powered GM is a test mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Which happens in the Universal Century timeline in 0083, surprise suprise. It's a RGM-79C GM Type C that had test parts added on to it, including a powerful backpack reactor and extra powerful thrusters. In fact, it proved to be such an improvement in mobility that they had to add special shock absorbers to prevent it from breaking its own legs when landing from tall jumps. At least 2 were made, and Dick Allen showed this suit could out maneuver and beat down a MS-06F2 Zaku II F2 without reaching its limits. Though only intended as test suits, they saw combat trying to retrieve something the Delaz Fleet has stolen in an attack on the base. Apparently there's one in Build fighters too.
