Finishing the HG GM Guard Custom

Strap in, ladies and gents, because we're about to finish the Guard Custom (which in my head I keep calling the Shield custom, for reasons that are about to become obvious) from just the torso.  If you recall, I started the guard custom when I went to a local meetup for the first time in the city I moved to, which you can read about HERE . I got through the torso and didn't take a lot of pics because I was having fun enjoying the moment with my fellow builders. But now, on to the rest of this kit! One thing to note is theres a lot of flat wide surfaces, and some had slight areas that needed to be sanded down with some faint lines running across them. So even if you didn't touch it and there was no nub, inspect every piece and every surface! This time I'm just doing a straight build, with 1.Cut far end of all the gates of a piece to release it 2.Cut close to but not perfectly flush to remove gates 3.Knife work to get a flat nubless surface, erring on the sid...

Deciding to go to a local meetup

To take a break from the kit based posts (and let me know if you love those or want more other stuff too): I recently moved to a new city.  None of the closest 3 gaming stores really carried gunpla, it was more the traditional "MTG and card and board games and a few tables and shelves of wargames".   On a lark this weekend I searched for Gunpla near me on facebook and found there's a group that meets to do models (mostly gunpla but some other stuff) every Tuesday about 30 minutes away, maybe 35 with traffic.  The notice said they meet from like 5-8. That's not super far, but I was debating it at it would be a little over an hour travel time for the like 2 hours I could make this week.  I mentioned my hemming and hawing while talking on a discord server, and when I was met with "dude, I would totally drive even further if there was any store that sold gunpla or a meetup near me just to check it out, at least once!".  I realized that's true, I'd be...
